Privacy Policy

01Overview

Mailbucket is a temporary email service designed to protect your privacy. This page explains exactly what is stored and for how long.

02What we store

  • The temporary addresses you create
  • Messages delivered to those addresses, including headers, body and attachments
  • Basic metadata such as sender, subject, size and timestamps
  • A token in your browser's local storage so you can return to your inbox

03What we do not do

  • No account registration and no personal details
  • No cookies for tracking and no analytics scripts
  • No selling or sharing of data with third parties

04How the data is used

  • To deliver and display messages to the address owner
  • To delete addresses and their contents once they expire

05Retention

  • Temporary addresses expire automatically — 24 hours by default
  • Messages and attachments are removed together with the address
  • Individual messages can be deleted at any time from the inbox
  • No backups are kept after deletion

06Security

  • Access requires the unique token issued with the address
  • The token never leaves your browser except to call the API
  • HTML messages are rendered in a sandboxed frame with scripts disabled

07Your control

  • Delete any message whenever you want
  • Generate a new address at any time
  • Clear your browser storage to stop using an address
